Sunny and beautiful in Seattle!

Unbelievable beautiful day in the greater Seattle area today!
I would have snapped some pictures if my phone wasn't on the fritz :(

Started off the day with a delightful trip down to Carkeek Park and enjoyed the sunshine and the beautiful, scenic views of the ocean and the Olympic Mountains against the backdrop.

Took a nice walk with Jamie up and down lower Greenwood and Phinney Ridge and took in a beautiful, sunny day we don't often get this early in March!

Patty Murray in 2010

Maybe a good indicator of where Patty Murray's campaign is headed this Fall:

Don't let the "soccer Mom in tennis shoes" fool you.

She is a pawn of the Banking Elite, the Union thugs and the Socialist Agenda to derail the Constitution. Say no to career-politicians like Patty; especially ones that have turned their backs on their constituents and the Constitution of the United States- send a message with your vote this Fall.

VOTE ANYONE BUT PATTY MURRAY this Fall!

Wipeout

(sigh)
One computer virus and malicious worm in a ONE MONTH period.
What can you do when you're running the right software, you got some cats with some programming chops in your corner and a little tenacity to beat the baddies off?

How can Comcast have let NOT ONE, BUT 2 malicious attack programs through without catching them or any sort of heads up. And I find it funny that the first thing that pops up when we reboot is a free add from Norton from Comcast. What a joke. I'm glad I'm paying them top-dollar every month.

I lost pretty much everything but pictures and documents today.
One side of me is happy that I didn't lose everything, but I'm pretty bummed I lost a lot of great stuff.

Damn.

the Screw-Valentine's-Day bar promotion

Great post from The Bar Blogger today.Man, this is a GREAT idea for meat-market bars!

Bar Louie in Columbus have a great head turning talking point of a promotion on at the moment. Ignoring the usual love fest that is taken advantage of by every other bar and restaurant, they have instead decided to focus on the demographic without a significant other!

Makes a lot of sense! Will be checking it out to see the results they got with it and will keep you posted!

Unseasonably sunny January Bloggies

Hey people.
Long time no Blog.

RANDOM RUMINATIONS:

1) Being one of the biggest critics of the Seattle City Council's always-unanimous-voting oligarchies, one thing that has tickled me pink is how much their panties are in a bunch (oh yes, I DID say panties Councilman Rasmussen) over Mr. Maverick-Mayor elect, Mike McGinn. It's certainly not his flaming Liberal politics they are scared of. It's the simple fact that he may not agree with or support all of the things all 9 members of the council always seem to agree on: always agreeing (hellloo!!!any voice of dissent in this Representative body????)

The issue of Mayor McGinn's newest proposal for a humongous new tax levy for the Seawall not only has the Council nervous (over the conflict it may present to their beloved and expensive deep-bore tunnel), but it's starting to make me and it looks like others in Seattle nervous of his taxing intentions.

Joel Connelly sums it up nicely here:
McGinn's folly? Time to step back from constant tax hikes

2) Adios Sunset Bowl. May the owners that worked this deal get paid back in full sh*tty karma.

3) God bless the souls of the dead in Haiti and God speed to the aid, most of it just sitting there on the tarmacs in Port of Prince. What kind of bullsh*t infrastructure and government can be so broken and hobbled for 2 centuries to not be able to provide for such a relatively small population? I'll tell you what kind. You got a government that tops the list of the
MOST CORRUPT IN THE WORLD
:

Now ask yourself this......do you see signs of the U.S. taking small steps towards occupation? Dig deep....watch...there ya go.......mmmm-hmmmm....keep watching.

4) So guess who I think will win the Late Night wars??? Answer: I could give a rat's ass. I just unplugged the Cable for good. I'm done being a pawn of the Telecommunications Conglomerates. I feel liberated!
Well.....at least until the Superbowl and LOST. Talk to me then.

So Brewfest is around the corner and.....well...
Yeah.
Let's just not go there.

Ta-taa tots!
Have a great weekend!

7 little fish- A parable

7 little fishes swam out of their humdrum pond to discover new waters, relax in some new surroundings and bask in each other's company. The other fishes were doubtful of their ambitions; they swam in their complacency, not interested in what the 7 might find.

On their return, the 7 little fishes reported back of a wondrous time with great memories, good times and a sense of adventure satiated!

This was enough to spark the interest of other fishes the following year.

The next year, more fishes wanted to join the original 7 cohorts and see what they were missing out on. The school of fishes was growing and although the original 7 wanted to keep their discovery small and somewhat exclusive, they embraced more fishes joining their yearly adventure, enjoying the new waters like they had done the year before.

Soon, word spread. The new waters were the talk of the pond. More and more fishes wanted to see what the fuss was all about. The newest fishes had spread the word about the great and wondrous new waters and began recruiting more fishes for the annual swim, in light of the originals desire to keep things exclusive and small.

The following year, the school of fishes had doubled! The original 7 had suddenly found themselves a small group of fish in their own, original yearly discovery. The new waters became a bit crowded; some fishes scales rubbed and some fishes' personalities flared and soon, what had started as a small adventure of specific intentions, became something pushing the edges of the original 7's intended desires for relaxation and camaraderie.
The significance of the new waters was slowly eroding.

By the following year, the buzz of the new waters had reached new magnitudes. All the fish in the pond were buzzing about- fishes were recruiting other fishes in large amounts.
The original 7 found their original intentions swept to the wayside. Relaxation and camaraderie had taken a backseat to the growing numbers of new fishes, many of whom clamored for individual intentions and swam against the current of the original 7. The ranks of the original 7 fishes had even been compromised during the influx of new fishes; many lost track of the original concepts of the annual swim to new waters. As the school-size doubled again, what started as an exclusive and specific trip had conformed to the masses and fell into collective entropy.

The original concept had been lost to the masses.
The original 7 had sold themselves out.

Moral of the story:
Keep your private ponds private unless you care to have them "watered down".
